It's time to start writing again. Here I am at 12am with an AMP energy drink, a half devoured package of chocolate wafers and a soundtrack by Mike Patton. Not the healthiest way to stay up but it seems to be working. Years of trying to convince myself that I know what I'm doing with my camera is starting to pay off.
Here's an update as to what I've been up to these days. I have indirectly become the pseudo-photographer for Whole Foods Kahala as well as one of the photographers for a new local publication called Abstract magazine. (more on that later) For now I'll just say there's nothing like being thrown straight into the fire to get your feet moving.
The last couple of weeks I was asked to hang off the roof of Century Plaza in downtown, pal around with some pretty intimidating motorcycle groups, squeeze an indie rock band into a tiny unlit stairwell minutes before their gig, walk out onto the reef of a popular surf spot in street clothes, as well as wander Waikiki in the wee morning hours looking for crime, all for the sake of THAT image. I've been having one heck of a time spending quality time behind that lil' viewfinder. Here's a preview of some of my favorites. More to come.
